Jensen Ackles deserves an Emmy. It's too bad a show like Supernatural will never be considered.
He killed me in the last scene of tonight's episode. Anytime that man cries, I get so emotional! It reminded me of the last episode of House last season, watching Robert Sean Leonard as Wilson. I was completely drained afterwards.

I have pneumonia.

How did that happen? I only ever hear about little kids and old people getting it.

After that fever and cough developed last Wednesday, I took the day off and went to the Dr. on Friday. She said it was probably something viral, gave me some cough medicine with codeine and told me to come back on Monday if I still had a fever.
Moved out of my apartment on Saturday morning, which was no fun at all considering, and then slept and coughed the rest of the day and on Sunday. Went back to the Dr. on Monday morning and she could hear it right away but did blood work and a chest x-ray just to confirm.
So, apparently my goal for the week is to stay well enough that I don't end up in the hospital. The Dr. is calling me every day to check on me and I have to go back in on Friday to see how things are progressing.

This is not fun! I'm so out of breath. I can go to the bathroom and then literally have to sit for 5 minutes to catch my breath afterwards. I can't shower cause I can't breathe with the steam.

And I'm not allowed to go to work again until she says it's okay. I was only there for 4 days after getting back from a two week vacation before this. And two of those days I was already sick. Argh. I also missed our media party Monday night, which is the biggest event for PR for the year. Good job Tara, way to earn bonus points at work.

I know it could be worse, so I shouldn't complain too much, but poo.

Since Feb. 14 is fast approaching..

Man, am I glad it's Friday. What a long and exhausting week it has been.

I won lotto last night so I saw the show again, this time from the front row. It really is amazing how much of a different experience you get from sitting in different parts of a theater. But then, most of you are theater people, so you already know that.

Anyway, the show was wonderful and everyone seemed to be more 'on' this time around. Stephanie seemed to have much better control over her voice this time, and I was much more impressed with Kendra. Sebastian impressed me even more than he did last week. The amount of noise that is produced when he comes out for the curtain call is insane.
And there was a massive mob around him at the stage door that I was barely able to navigate around to make it inside.

Logan was out, so there was an understudy for Boq, which was fine by me.

And just a note, since just about all of my entries lately have been friends locked and a lot of them have to do with work, I think I'm going to go completely friends only after this. So, if you are lurking and want to be added, speak now.

I love this show. I really do.
I went Thursday night. There are some things that have been scaled down a little for the tour, but the show still gives me goosebumps.

Stephanie has an amazing voice and I really like what she does with Elphaba. It did sound like she might have been struggling with the voice a bit though. I really noticed it in Defying Gravity and As Long As You're Mine. She didn't do the wicked witch laugh, which made me sad.

Kendra.. I don't know. Some things I really liked and others I really didn't. I think her mic might have been too low at the beginning cause it was hard to hear her. Her popular was fun. I think overall, I preferred her Act 2.

Sebastian really impressed me. I didn't expect to like him as much as I did. I only ever saw him as Gordon in Rent and I wasn't blown away by his performance or anything. But I loved his Fiyero. He had that whole laid back, not caring attitude down really well. And his voice was right on.
I ran into him in the hallway on Thursday afternoon. He was leaving their matinee and I was taking a break before coming back for the night show. We chatted for a bit on our way out the stage door, where he got mobbed and I escaped the crowd as quickly as possible.

I really liked David Garrison's Wizard. He's got a great voice.

The guy playing Boq - Logan something I think? I really liked his acting, but couldn't stand his voice. It drove me nuts.

I'll probably be playing lotto quite a few times in the next few weeks and I think there will be some times that I will only be playing for me, so for anyone who can make it here in 2 hours and would want to go with me to the show if I win, let me know. It's $25.

I feel like a horrible Rent fan.

I've been so out of the loop lately on everything, but with the movie coming out I feel like I should at least know what's been going on, and I have no clue.
I haven't seen any clips or tv appearances or read articles or anything. I've seen the ad that plays every commercial break on tv, but other than that... nope.
Our daily paper ran a review today and gave it a C. It was reviewed by our theater critic, who I work with regularly, so we may need to have words.
Kidding.

I'm just not feeling overly excited, which I'm sure is just because I haven't been paying attention to anything to get me excited.
So... if you have any links to fun interviews, clips, anything you think I should see, please send them my way so I can get pumped. Not sure yet when I'll be seeing it. I imagine at least by this weekend sometime if not tomorrow or Thursday. I'm sure that once I'm there I won't be able to sit still in my seat.

Speaking of sitting in my seat, I saw Harry Potter this weekend and not once did I have to get up, squirm or stretch my legs for my back. And when I got up, I wasn't crooked or stiff. Those of you who have ever gone with me to a movie or show where I have to sit for more than an hour know what a difference that is.
I had my second injection on Friday and they are clearly working wonderfully. I had a follow up with the dr yesterday and we've decided that 80% of my pain is gone. I have another procedure next Friday and then I'm done. Yay, cause they aren't much fun. Hopefully it will last at least a year, preferably longer, cause I'm going broke over this, but it's so worth it.

I'm in the least amount of pain I've been in for seven years, and I can't even begin to describe how wonderful that is.

OK.
So Jess, Sophie and I just got home from seeing a screening of A History of Violence.

What an amazing movie. And I totally don't say that just because of Ashton and Viggo and the fact that we've been waiting for it for a year. It was so well done. The crowd seemed to love it and it was one of those movies where everyone was talking as soon as the credits rolled and on the way out of the theater.

If Viggo doesn't get an Oscar nomination for this performance, then there is a problem, because he was incredible. Really, really incredible. He amazes me in everything he does so it's hard to believe he can continue to step it up, but he does.

AND ASHTON! I am absolutely sure that we aren't going to be his only fans anymore. I expect them to start coming out of the woodwork. I think it would be hard to watch his character and not fall in love with him, and his performance was great. I think the crowd cheered for him 4 times and he got applause twice. And in general, there was more reaction to his lines than anyone else.

I'll write more when I get back home on Sunday or Monday and once I've seen the movie again. For now, I'm tired and my thoughts are still racing.

OHH, I MET VIGGO ON THE RED CARPET LAST NIGHT! That was much fun. What a nice guy. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone got autographs and he even went past the barricades to do it. He's so gentle and soft-spoken and BEAUTIFUL in person. Photos don't do him any justice. I did take some photos though so I'll post them when I get home.

Oh, and I'm in love with the little girl. SO CUTE!

I have to wake up in three and a half hours to head to the airport, and I'm still waiting for my laundry to finish drying so I will have clothes to bring. Ugh.

But on the plus side, in less than 24 hours I will be with Jess, Sophie and Chrissy.

This is late because I haven't been online at all. but HAPPY BIRTHDAY bucklind!! I hope it was a great one.

My flight out to LA is at 7 Wednesday morning. That is WAY too early. And I'm really nervous about what a 5 hour flight is going to do to my back. And I couldn't get an aisle seat.
I had my MRI done on Thursday. The report won't be ready till this week, but the way the technician was acting when she took me out of the machine, I don't think it's going to be good. Then she brought up surgery and said if my doctors choose to do it, make sure I give myself enough time to recover after. Eh. Doesn't sound good. I go back to the Dr. on Oct. 3.

I'm trying to be really good and I'm laying down as much as I can, so with that...back to bed.

Sean Bean will be on Good Morning America tomorrow. Sadly, I know no one cares, but I'm still excited.

Exactly one week from now, Jess and I will have returned from the A History of Violence premiere.
And then Thursday we are seeing an advance screening of the movie. Woot!
And I'm still planning on dragging her to see Flightplan with me.
4 more days of work and I'm off to LA.
If you have HBO, be sure to catch the HBO First Look for the movie. It just looks REALLY good. Ashton is just an added bonus. And the First Look has a clip of Viggo hitting Ashton. If that isn't reason enough for watching then I don't know what is.

I haven't updated in forever. Been busy with work and settling in after moving and such. I don't really have anything exciting to update about.

This is way late cause I suck at updating, but I saw sandyjoys on the Today Show. I got way too excited and I was all AWW! Sandy!
Actually, the morning the Rent cast was on I had taken some performers to do an interview at one of our radio stations and they had the show playing on mute in the studio. Of course, while we are on air is when the cast performed so I had to freak out silently.
But I TiVoed it and watched when I got home.

I want to know what's going on with Rent/Clearwater. ::confused::

I've been spending WAY too much money lately. First there's the apartment itself and everything I bought to go in it. I got new living room furniture, which I LOVE. So comfy. I also got a new dresser and nightstand for my bedroom, which haven't been delivered yet. I'm kind of living out of suitcases, which isn't so much fun. And now I'm shopping for a new TV and that definitely won't be cheap.

I also need to go visit peachgrrl next month. And I'm pretty committed to going. I want to so badly and I haven't seen her in more than a year! That's just wrong.

And then there's the Rent movie and the HP movie, both of which I wanted to be in NY for.

And I just got the notice that my LJ account expires next week. That's sad.

I think I just need to win the lottery. Too bad I don't play. Anyone want to donate to the "give Tara some spending money" fund?

I'm going to start re-reading the HP books from the beginning. Anyone care to join me? peachgrrl? What if I threaten to not come out unless you read?

I've somehow managed to get sucked into So You Think You Can Dance and Brat Camp. Is anyone else watching?

Okay. I've read little bits of some peoples thoughts about HBP but haven't read anything in depth and decided I want to put some of my thoughts down before I read everyone else’s opinions so I don't forget my original thoughts. So, if you've finished the book,

It looks like a lot of people really think Snape is bad, which kind of took me by surprise. Maybe it's just because I've loved the character for so long I don't want him to be bad, I don't know, but I really don't think he is. Though it is possible I'll be proven wrong in book 7.
I really think Dumbledore knew he was going to die soon, whether from that incident or something else, and he was pleading with Snape to kill him because if he didn't, Draco would probably end up dead and Snape would be found out so it really was best that it happen the way it did. I wasn't surprised it was Dumbledore, but I was surprised about it being by Snape's hand. About halfway through I had him pegged as the half-blood prince so yay me. But maybe that was obvious.
So yeah, I think Snape is really good and I think he will die heroically in the next book. That makes me sad cause I really see him as a tortured character. If he really is good, it must be horrible for him to have to pretend to be with the Death Eaters. Especially knowing everyone thinks he is bad now.

There wasn't enough Lupin in this book but what there was hurt to read. Poor guy. He's had it so rough and it just keeps getting worse for him. After everything he's been through now he has to live with the werewolf who bit him and he had to deal with what happened to Bill. How horrible for him. I'm a little confused about the whole Tonks liking him thing cause it kind of seemed to come out of no where, but he really needs something positive right about now. I'm kind of worried about his fate in the next book, which is scary cause he and Snape are two of my favorite characters.

I love Ginny so much. I'm loving her more and more with each book. She is going to rock book 7.

Back to Dumbledore for a moment ... that scene in the cave with the potion was heartbreaking. Guh.

I completely wasn't expecting Snape to be given the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. Looking back to the whole hiring Slughorn but not mentioning for what position, maybe that was stupid of me to overlook.

I love Luna and I'm waiting for something big to happen with her.

Ron and Hermione are getting a little annoying. Come on already.

The idea of the Horcruxes intrigues me. I wonder what they all are and where they are and I'm glad we at least have an idea going into book 7 what Harry needs to accomplish. Going into this one there was still so much up in the air.

I'm assuming R.A.B. is Regulus? Was his middle name ever mentioned? I'm not observant enough to remember. And does this mean that he was really good? I always thought he would pop up again somewhere along the line.

I loved Kreacher and Dobby fighting.

I'm glad she has finally explained the politics of the wizarding/muggle worlds. I loved that chapter.

The similarities between Tom Riddle and Harry really are pretty creepy.

I'm sure there's a lot more that I could talk about but I'm tired and haven't even started unpacking yet.

I understand there is a JKR interview up at The Leaky Cauldron I need to read. Way too much to catch up on.

I just got home from Myrtle Beach.
11 hours and 15 minutes in the car = not much fun.
end of vacation = less fun.
I've got lots of catching up to do. It was horrible reading the Harry Potter book and not being able to get online when I finished. I don't think I'm gonna catch up on my FL so if you made a big HP:HBP post, let me know and I'll go find it.

I fell asleep on the beach on Thursday and got SO burnt. I even got sick that night from it. So not fun and now I'm very red.

Ok, off to eat and unpack.

Okay, I know no one on my friends list shares my Orlando Bloom love but THIS is hilarious. It's a short video clip from the Tonight Show of Eric Bana impersonating Orlando. I might have watched it way too many times already. Eric cracks me up. He even has the weird shifty eye thing down. So yes, go watch if you are at all familiar with Orlando and/or Eric.

We are starting to get rain bands from Hurricane Dennis. Bah! At least it's supposed to stay pretty far off the coast. I guess it's supposed to be rainy and windy all weekend though. I wanted to spend time out by the pool to get some sun since I'm headed to Myrtle Beach next week and I'm gonna burn myself to a crisp.
I'm leaving Thursday morning and I'll be there through the next week. Yay! I miss MB. I didn't get to go last year cause I had just started my job. Kind of crazy to think I've been working there for more than a year now. I won't have internet access though, which bothers me more than it should. That means everyone needs to call me to keep me updated on everything.
I need to find a bookstore up there to get my HP fix exactly a week from right now!

My mom headed up today and stayed in Savannah tonight. She called me earlier to tell me that they have a ship from Pirates of the Carribean 2 in the port where she is staying. Apparently they just finished filming with it last week or something. I got excited and she said she will take pictures. It's a good thing Johnny and Orlando aren't on that ship or I'd be in the car right now.

I don't remember what else I was going to say.

I just watched National Treasure. Interesting movie. Pretty corny and unrealistic but it managed to keep my interest. I just really can't stand Nicholas Cage. He really irks me and I think he's a really bad actor. I don't understand why people like him.

Sean Bean, on the other hand, made it all worthwhile cause I enjoy him kind of a lot.

I think tropical storm Dennis needs to stay away.
